ITINERARY
Day 1: Cusco – Amazon Pona Lodge.
Your
Manu Reserved Zone 5 Days Tour from Cusco begins early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Cusco in our private transportation. As we travel from the Andes Mountains toward the Amazon rainforest, we make our first stop at the pre-Inca burial towers of Ninamarca, an important archaeological site located near Paucartambo.
We continue through traditional Andean landscapes until reaching
Tres Cruces, one of the highest viewpoints and the entrance to the famous
Manu National Park, one of the most protected natural reserves in South America.
From here, the route descends into the spectacular Manu cloud forest, a unique ecosystem filled with orchids, bromeliads, waterfalls, and abundant wildlife. During guided walks through the cloud forest, we search for the famous Cock-of-the-Rock Peru’s national bird, as well as woolly monkeys, toucans, quetzals, and many exotic bird species.
With favorable conditions and some luck, it is also possible to encounter the elusive
Andean Bear (Tremarctos ornatus) in this region.
In the afternoon, we arrive at
Amazon Pona Lodge, surrounded by lush rainforest landscapes. Before dinner, guests may participate in an optional night walk to observe nocturnal insects, frogs, spiders, and other creatures of the Amazon jungle.

As we continue into the
Manu Biosphere Reserve, the rainforest becomes increasingly remote and rich in biodiversity. Our professional jungle guide will explain the ecological importance of this protected region and introduce travelers to the incredible flora and fauna of the Amazon ecosystem.
In the afternoon, we explore jungle trails and surrounding rainforest areas in search of wildlife such as monkeys, colorful birds, insects, reptiles, and medicinal plants used by local communities.
