ITINERARY
Day 1: Cusco - Amazon Pona Lodge.
Your
Manu National Park 4 Days Tour from Cusco begins early in the morning around 5:30 AM with pickup from your hotel in Cusco in our transportation. As we travel from the Andes toward the Amazon rainforest, the first stop will be the pre-Inca burial towers of Ninamarca, an important archaeological site located in the Paucartambo region.
We then continue ascending through the Andean mountains until reaching Tres Cruces, one of the highest points on the route and the gateway to the famous Manu National Park one of the most biodiverse protected areas in South America.
From here, the journey descends into the spectacular Manu cloud forest, a unique ecosystem rich in flora and fauna. During guided walks through the cloud forest, we will spend several hours exploring this incredible environment in search of wildlife and exotic bird species.
This area is one of the best locations to observe Peru’s national bird, the famous Cock-of-the-Rock, as well as woolly monkeys, orchids, bromeliads, and colorful bird species such as the Blue-banded Toucanet, Golden-headed Quetzal, and Crested Quetzal. With some luck, we may also encounter the elusive Andean Bear (Tremarctos ornatus).
In the afternoon, we arrive at Amazon Pona Lodge surrounded by the rainforest. Before dinner, guests will have the opportunity to participate in an optional night walk to discover nocturnal insects, amphibians, and other creatures of the Amazon jungle.

Day 2: Amazon Pona Lodge – Harpy Eagle Lodge (Boat ride - Machuwasi lake).
After an early breakfast, we continue deeper into the
Manu Amazon rainforest toward the port of Atalaya, where we board a motorized canoe to begin our river journey through the jungle.
As we navigate along the river, there are excellent opportunities to observe wildlife along the riverbanks, including tropical birds, monkeys, turtles, and capybaras resting near the water.
During this exploration day, our professional jungle guide will introduce you to the incredible biodiversity of the region, explaining the ecosystem, medicinal plants, and wildlife behavior found in the
Amazon rainforest.
We will also enjoy guided jungle walks through primary and secondary rainforest trails where visitors may encounter monkeys, exotic insects, colorful butterflies, and a wide variety of tropical plants.
Then, we arrive at Harpy Eagle Lodge, located in a remote rainforest environment ideal for nature lovers and wildlife observation.
After dinner, guests may participate in an optional night excursion to search for nocturnal wildlife such as frogs, insects, spiders, and caimans.

Day 3: Harpy Eagle Lodge (swimming, sport fishing, Parrot Clay Lick, exploration day).
Today is dedicated to exploring the rich biodiversity of the
Manu jungle. Early morning excursions offer some of the best opportunities to observe wildlife when the rainforest is most active.
During our guided excursions, visitors may observe different species of monkeys, colorful parrots, macaws, toucans, reptiles, and other wildlife that inhabit the
Amazon rainforest of Peru.
We continue exploring jungle trails and river areas while learning about the ecological importance of
Manu National Park, recognized worldwide for its extraordinary biodiversity and protected ecosystems.
Depending on weather conditions and luck, wildlife sightings may include sloths, capybaras, caimans, and many species of tropical birds.
In the evening, we return to the lodge to relax and enjoy the sounds of the rainforest surrounded by untouched nature.

Day 4: Harpy Eagle Lodge - Cusco.
Early in the morning, we enjoy one final opportunity to explore the rainforest and observe wildlife before beginning our return journey.
After breakfast, we travel back by boat to Atalaya port, where our private transportation will be waiting to take us back to Cusco through the cloud forest and Andean landscapes.
Along the return route, there may be additional opportunities to observe birds and wildlife in the
Manu cloud forest.
We arrive in Cusco in the late afternoon, ending this unforgettable
4 day Amazon jungle adventure in Manu National Park.
