ITINERARY DESCRIPTION
Day 1: Cusco – Amazon Pona Lodge.
On the first day of our adventure into the Jungle of Manu, we will pick you up around 5:30 AM from your Hotel in Cusco, using Amazon Tours Peru private transport, our first stopping to visit the pre Inca burial towers of Ninamarca. We then drive through the mountains to get to Tres Cruces, the highest point and entrance to Manu National Park to one of the most protected natural areas in South America. From here we will continue into the Cloud Forest and at Fog forest we will explore for around 3 hours to observe the National bird of Perú, (the cock of the rock), the biggest monkey in Peru (woolly monkeys) and to observe different types of bromeliads and beautiful orchids. Then we arrive to our Amazon Pona Lodge where we will sleep in a beautiful and rustic lodge, this night before dinner we do short night walking using our rubber boots (night walk optional).

Day 2: Amazon Pona Lodge – Shipetiari Ecological Reserve - Mammals Clay Lick.
At daybreak, after breakfast we continue by bus to tropical lowland rainforest, stopping along the way to visit a coca and banana plantations. Arriving at the small village Atalaya at 650m, we change into a motorized canoe to navigate down the fast Alto Madre de Dios River, with all equipment (life jackets) to our Ecological Reserve, along the boat trip, we can see a variety of birds, such as herons, Kingfisher and always the presence of vultures of which the most spectacular is the condor of the jungle, the king of vultures (Sarcoramphus papa)
Around mid day We will make a stop at the natural hot springs to lunch and relax, along the boat trip exist chances to see the famous Capybaras crossing the river (worl’s largest rodents), Red Howler Monkeys, King Vulture, Caracaras etc. In the afternoon we will arrive to Papaya Eco Lodge where after a short break we will start trekking through the jungle to the deep part, in the way to the mammals clay lick we will see Monkeys like Brown Cappuchins Monkey, titi Monkey, squirrel Mokeys, this night we will spend at our Tapirs and Deers Clay Lick. This Camouflaged hut is strategically located near to the Clay Lick to observe the Tapir (the bigest mammal in the amazon) , Deers, and to enjoy the jungle sounds during all night time. Night at our Camouflaged Hut watching nocturnal animals and to enjoy the mixed sounds of the jungle (protected by mosquitos net)

Day 3: Camouflaged Hut - Papaya Eco Lodge.

We come back early in the morning from the Camouflaged Hut to Papaya Eco Lodge, on the way back we will enjoy the amazing sounds of birds like Macaws, woodpeckers or sound of the Howler Monkey.
During the day we will explore by different trails having the chance to see many species of mokeys like, squirrel Monkeys, Capuchin Monkey, Titi Monkeys, Howler Monkeys, Macaws, Woodpeckers, Toucans, Parrots, harpy eagles and many other species Also the tour guide will explain you everything about the ecosistem of the jungle, medicinal plants and giant trees.
We will walk in the afternoon until evening in our Ecological Reserve (included night expeditions) to see tarantulas, different types of spiders, poisonous frogs, tree frogs, snakes, alligators, night monkeys, armadillos and boas.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4: Papaya Eco Lodge - Cusco.
We will leave early from our Lodge to visit the parrots, parakeets and mini macaws clay lick and after breakfast we will return to Atalaya by boat where our private van will be waiting to take us back to Cusco.
We return to Cusco via the cloud forest and Paucartambo. We will arrive back in Cusco in the late afternoon.

Note: If we didn´t see the Andean cook of the rock the first day in the afternoon, we can visit the last day in the morning.
